Home to our beloved horses Doni and Doll, our Vineyard comprises of five acres of Semillon and two acres of Chardonnay. First planted sometime in the 1960's, it is home to some of the Hunters oldest Chardonnay, and has consistently produced premium Semillon. 

The unirrigated vineyard is cane-pruned and hand-picked to produce a low-yielding, high quality grape. We only produce approximately 1300 bottles of each wine, and all wines are exclusively Hunter Valley grown.

Our aim is to provide you with amazing wine with personalised service to give you an experience like no other in the Hunter Valley.

Four of Australia’s most respected chefs will step into the spotlight for the tenth annual Hunter Culinary Association (HCA) Food Fight in a hotly-­contested battle to create the best and most popular new twist on a classic dish.

The annual Food Fight is the signature event organised by the (HCA) and is a highly-­anticipated occasion on the Hunter’s culinary calendar.

This year’s clash promises to be as thrilling as ever, with the chefs going head to head working their magic and creating a unique take on classic dishes that have stood the test of time. Each chef will prepare one lunch course – their own interpretation of a classic dish or flavour combination. For Dominique Cherry, of Bonnells Bay on the Morisset Peninsula, it feels like the rest of society has caught up to what she’s been doing for quite a while.

Cherry has spent years photographing chefs and their dishes.

She was doing it before it became trendy.

Margan wines are all Estate Grown and Estate Made in the Broke Fordwich region of the Hunter Valley. The business was established in 1996 and is owned and operated by Lisa and Andrew Margan who are proud to have over 100 hectares of quality vineyards, a state of the art winery and striking cellar door and Margan restaurant as part of their onsite wine tourism operations.

Margan Restaurant is regarded as ‘acclaimed agri-dining at its finest’. It pioneered the Kitchen Garden concept in the region and is committed to the business ethos of estate grown- estate made. Menus are constructed around what is harvested from the one acre kitchen garden and orchard to maintain a truly season focus. Estelle is a venue designed to suit all occasions. Whether stopping by for a glass of wine and a share plate, or a full tasting experience, guests can find home in the all-encompassing venue.

Commencing with a small budget and just six tables, owner chef, Scott Pickett has grown his establishment that now includes an upstairs private dining space and a covered courtyard with additional seating. Now re-established as the Estelle, Scott expanded the space to create a restaurant and wine bar out of the previous Estelle Bistro and Estelle by Scott Pickett.

Estelle includes an exposed brick wall and recycled timber finish that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With large windows separating the dining room and the wine bar, Estelle provides a verdant and open space for lunches, dinners and private functions.

The courtyard provides guests with a light and autonomous space that can also be used for private events.
